Rabat: “We’re getting there”

Rabat: “We’re getting there”

Tito Rabat ready to continue his run of 2015 podiums at the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon.

A run of three podium finishes has seen Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Racing’s Tito Rabat take a decisive edge in the battle for second in the Moto2™ World Championship. Rabat’s aim for Aragon is to extend his 17-point lead over Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) and continue his run of consecutive podium finishes. Of four Moto2™ Aragon starts, Rabat has twice finished in second. A post race test in Misano allowed the 2014 Moto2™ Champion to continue testing suspension components, front-end issues had plagued the start of his 2015 season.

The Moto2™ race in Misano was unaffected by weather and Aragon again looks to remain dry. It will also be a decisive weekend for the 2015 Moto2™ Championship as Rabat may be able to stop Zarco from claiming the title if he is able to finish ahead of the dominant Frenchman. Regardless of when the title is decided, the battle for second looks set to rage till the end of the season.

Tito Rabat: “We head to Aragon with the same objective as every other race; to make one step more with the bike and to fight for the race win. We’re getting there. Misano was a good race for us, with a good rhythm in the final laps, so we’re definitely close. Aragon is a home race for me, but it doesn’t really change my approach, which is always to work hard in practice and qualifying and then push for the win. The track is one I like, especially the very fast part! The weather looks like it’s going to be good over the weekend, without the wind that can sometimes cause problems at Aragon.”
