Fenati: “The race was beautiful!”

A hard charging Romano Fenati avoids drama in the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon for an important third.

For the third time in 2015, SKY Racing Team VR46’s Romano Fenati took to the podium after a hard fought Aragon GP. In typical Moto3™ style, a group of ten young and hungry riders fought tooth and claw out the front for the majority of the race. Fenati saw himself thrust from the lead to down the order on multiple occasions, each time rallying. Three of the top five riders, including championship leader Danny Kent (Leopard Racing), crashed on the final lap promoting the fiery Italian to third.

Unfortunately for Fenati, fellow KTM rider Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) was able to secure victory and therefore push Romano Fenati down to fourth in the standings. Just four points split the pair and with the 2015 Moto3™ World Championship lead a distant 79 points away, securing third and the top KTM spot will no doubt be Fenati’s primary aim for the remainder of the 2015 season.

Romano Fenati: “Today I have a bit of luck because in the last lap many fell, I don’t know who crashed apart from Bastianini. Racing is like this. The bike was very good today and we improved a lot from Warm Up. In the start I made maybe another step from yesterday because our practice starts were quite bad but today it was a little bit better. The race was beautiful!”
