Hernandez: “I am liking it more and more”

Yonny Hernandez completes the final day of testing in Jerez, making great progress with his new Aspar Team.

Conditions were once again favourable in Jerez for the third and final day of testing before the winter testing ban begins on the first of December. The Aspar team and Yonny Hernandez continued to work tirelessly as they prepare for their 2016 campaign. The Colombian was one of many riders to set times similar to those during the GP weekend earlier in the year, even with the new tyres and electronic package. Traction control was the main area that Hernandez and the Aspar team worked to improve on Friday, slowly feeding in more and more power for the sliding Colombian. His confidence continued to grow throughout the three days and he and the team are now working well together.

Work will continue for all the MotoGP™ World Championship riders and teams in Sepang in early February for the second official test. Both Hernandez and the Aspar team come away from Jerez feeling confident in their new venture together and are excited for what the future may hold.

Yonny Hernandez: “Today we worked a lot with the electronics setup again, focusing on traction control. We increased the power as the day went on and I am liking it more and more. That led me to be improving my lap times progressively. The aim was to work hard, learn and find the limit of the tyres, but above all we had to be cautious and avoid crashes. I felt very comfortable with new tyres today. The feeling has been fantastic over these past three days, so I leave Jerez with a good taste in my mouth. I am looking forward to continuing working in Malaysia, but we will have to wait a little while for that.”
