The Misano World Circuit is soon to open for the two-day ‘SIC DAY’ event to remember Marco Simoncelli and help his foundation.
After three previous editions, the ‘SIC DAY’ continues to grow and offer various events to a growing number of riders from the world of MotoGP™, WSBK, Supermoto and MX, giving fans, friends and family a chance to come together to celebrate Marco Simoncelli.
As the event continues to evolve it will now take place at the Misano World Circuit, but the aim remains to raise money and support Marco Simoncelli’s foundation which was created to continue Simoncelli's legacy, the Italian tragically passing away in 2011 during the Malaysian GP. His foundation now works to keep his memory alive and support many different charity projects. Now the circuit, which carries his name, opens its gates for the weekend to both two and four wheeled competition on the fifth and sixth of December.
The event offers a rich programme of exhibitions from several different disciplines, starting with the spectacular sliding of the Flat Track race, which will see top riders from various paddocks, compete. Acrobatic and stunt shows with both quad bikes and cars are also organised to add more spectacle to the event. It’s not just current riders who will be out racing as Graziano Rossi (the father of Valentino Rossi) will be participating in the indoor rally organized by the PRS Groupe Rallye.
Shows and races will also take place on the Misano Karting track where several Italian celebrities, including DJ Ringo and John Di Pillo, will test themselves against the professionals. Drift car shows will litter the venue throughout the two days.
A special ‘History of Sic’ museum exhibit will open at the Palace of Culture in Corani where fans can discover Marco Simconelli, the champion, the sports fan and the ambitious athlete.
