Baz: “In just two corners I lost almost a second”

Loris Baz celebrated his 23rd birthday by continuing to adapt to his Ducati GP14.2 at the Sepang test on Monday.

Baz set a 2.03.204 as he completed 58 laps in an effort to adapt his riding style to the Ducati, and also evaluate the new Michelin tyres. While he was left frustrated at losing time in the final sector of the track, he was left happy with his days work.

Testing resumes on Tuesday at 10am local time in Sepang.

Loris Baz: “It was a great day because there is no better birthday gift than to get on the bike after a long winter break. I'm happy because the day went pretty well. We worked all day with the hard back tire and the soft front, but as always in Sepang we lost much time in the last two corners and is something we have to work to try to improve, because in just two corners I lost almost a second and it is too much. But we worked well, we have collected a lot of information and I am slowly adapting to the style of this bike. In the end though the track was not as fast as the morning, yet I still managed to improve gradually and for me that is the most important thing. I still haven’t got the confidence to go out and be quick during the early laps, but that will come gradually.”
