Lowes: “Last year I was competitive”

Lowes: “Last year I was competitive”

Hoping to continue his historic form, Sam Lowes is confident of returning to the podium in Argentina.

Despite a ride through penalty for a jump start, Sam Lowes was still able to finish inside the top ten in Qatar. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of his charge through the field was he set his fastest lap, the fastest lap of the race overall, on the final lap. With the incredible pace he showed, there’s little doubt the Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 rider would have been towards the front had it not been for the penalty.

With this knowledge and a third place finish in 2015, Lowes is confident of a strong weekend at the Gran Premio Motul de la República Argentina. It won’t be an easy race as a number of new contenders have emerged in the Moto2™ World Championship, many known for aggressive riding. Having come through World Supersport and entering his third year in Moto2™, Lowes is no stranger to hard racing and ready to give as good as he gets.

Sam Lowes: “I cannot wait to get back on track in Argentina: I enjoy the circuit a lot and last year I was competitive, getting a nice podium finish. I feel very positive and I know that we are going the right way, so we will start the weekend knowing that we can stay at the top. I will keep fighting and improving, as always.”
