Step by step Jack Miller is overcoming his injury and getting up to speed in the premier class, helped significantly by testing in Jerez.
Injuries have put Jack Miller on the back foot in 2016, his crash in Austin destroying the progress he had made on his ankle at the start of the season. A determined ride in Jerez saw the Australian take 17th before a very productive test after the race. Having missed the first pre-season test in Sepang due to injury, every extra test day is precious for Miller and he took the opportunity to follow Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez on the factory Repsol Honda Team bikes to see how they ride, what lines they use to get the most out of the RC213V. With several valuable lessons learned, Miller now heads into the fifth round of the MotoGP™ World Championship looking for consistency and a return to the points aboard his Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS machine. The famous Le Mans circuit has been kind to Miller in the past, winning the Moto3™ race back in 2014. In 2015 he failed to finish the French GP on the Open Honda.
Jack Miller: “The biggest priority for me is to feel good again on the bike and confirm that I am getting stronger in MotoGP. The result is obviously important but more than anything my priority is to be consistently fast and have a good rhythm for the whole weekend. I picked up many things during the recent test in Jerez, especially with my lines. I followed Marc and Dani and I can see their lines and how they get the best from the bike. I will try some different lines in Le Mans and I feel ready and better prepared than ever. I will give my 100% like always and hope that means we can return to the points again.”
