Bastianini off to a flier in FP1

Italian fastest in first home practice at Misano

Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Moto3) went fastest in FP1 at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, as the 2015 winner topped the session in the final minutes to knock Jakub Kornfeil (Drive M7 SIC Racing) off the top spot. Philipp Oettl (Schedl GP Racing) was third fastest, as the order shuffled near the near of the session.

The session was red-flagged initially after an oil spillage on track from Leopard Racing's Fabio Quartararo, with the clean up operation delaying the timetable for the day's racing early on. Once action re-started, it was championship leader Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) who was the quickest man back on track, before suffering a mechanical issue and being pushed down to P4. Austria winner Joan Mir (Leopard Racing) was fifth fastest, ahead of oil-spilling teammate Quartararo, who ended the session P6 after a big improvement in the final minutes. Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0) was seventh, with home heroes Andrea Migno and Nicolo Bulega (Sky Racing Team VR46) next fastest, and Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold) locking out the top ten.
