It's a tradition by now that 9-time world champion Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) reveals a special helmet for his home GP at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, and the 2016 edition must instantly be in the running for the best ever: this year, it's the classic movie the Blues Brothers that proves the inspiration.
With friend Alessio Salucci alias 'Uccio' stepping into the shoes of John Belushi's Jake and Rossi playing Dan Aykroyd's Elwood, the helmet swaps the US for the Riviera di Rimini and riffs the movie's anthem Sweet Home Chicago in a tribute to the classic film, his great friend Uccio, and the scores of fans who come to worship Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration at the classic Adriatic venue.
It's 2.6 miles around Misano, and Rossi will definitely have a full tank of gas when the lights go out on Sunday.
