Lorenzo: first Ducati and second row at COTA

'Spartan' moves through Q1 to impress with a P6 position in Q2

Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) had a tough first two qualifying sessions in red, but Texas saw a good turnaround in fortunes for the Borgo Panigale factory rider as he moved from Q1 to shoot up the order in Q2.

Qualifying sixth to lock out the second row, the 'Spartan' starts alongside Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) and Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3)  - looking to get his first big points hail of the season after some ups and downs in Qatar and Argentina.

Jorge Lorenzo, P6: “Finally today we were able to obtain a good result, after a few difficult weeks. I am the best Ducati on the grid, but the most important thing is that I had a good feeling on my bike, and I managed to confirm what I had wanted to demonstrate in Argentina. Tomorrow it’ll be very important to get off to a good start, try and take as few risks as possible in the early laps, and above all finish the race because I want to put behind me the disappointment of the last GP. It’s going to be a very tough race physically, but I feel strong and I am very happy with the work that me and my team are doing.”
