Viñales: "I felt great on the bike again"

Positive first day at Silverstone for last year's winner

2016 winner Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) got off to a good start at Silverstone this season, going third fastest on Day 1 and not far off the top - with some serious optimism about his prospects on race day.

After some more difficult rounds, the rider from Roses will want to take the maximum points haul he can this weekend - looking to hit back against the gains made by both Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) and Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) in Austria.

Maverick Viñales, P3: "I feel good. Honestly, with the race pace we were quite competitive and I felt great on the bike again. I was riding in my own style and it was really nice to be as competitive again as we were at the start of the season. In the time attack I didn‘t feel as good, especially with the front. It was the first time I tried the hard tyre, so I was not trusting the bike enough. Anyway, I‘m there, so I‘m happy and quite confident that we can do a really good job tomorrow.."
