Fabio Di Giannantonio (Del Conca Gresini Moto3) set the quickest time of a wet Moto3™ session at the Michelin® Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, his 1:46.898 enough to edge out teammate and Championship leader Jorge Martin by 0.044.

The closest challenger to the Honda duo was Japan rostrum finisher Darryn Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo), the South African 0.334 back in third, with Tony Arbolino (Marinelli Snipers Team) and Tatsuki Suzuki (SIC58 Squadra Corse) – despite a late crash at Turn 1 – completing the top five on Saturday morning in P4 and P5 respectively.
Title contender Marco Bezzecchi (Redox PruestelGP) was sixth fastest, however, the Italian suffered his third crash of the weekend after going down at Turn 6 – rider ok. Meanwhile, Andrea Migno (Angel Nieto Team), Kazuki Masaki (RBA BOE Skull Rider) and Vicente Perez (Reale Avintia Academy 77) all headed to the medical centre after crashes. Migno and Perez were declared fit after checks, but Masaki was diagnosed with a fracture of the fifth metacarpus in his left hand.
A wet session means it’s still Aron Canet (Estrella Galicia 0,0) who sits as the fastest man so far this weekend as qualifying appears over the horizon for the lightweight class. Tune in at 13:35 local time (GMT +11) as the Moto3™ riders aim for pole.
