After nearly a year out, Jonas Folger returns to MotoGP™ action in 2019 as he takes on the role of European Test Rider with Yamaha Factory Racing and according to motorsport.com, he and the Iwata factory are in talks about potential wildcard appearances next season.
The German completed the Valencia Test for Yamaha, but he won’t be at the final MotoGP™ test of the year in Jerez on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th of November. So, February’s Sepang Test is the next time we’ll see Folger on a MotoGP™ machine, but will we see the 25-year-old competing in some races as well as tests in 2019?
“I think we have to wait a bit,” commented Folger. “There is a possibility, we're talking about it, but first we need to do more tests, and then see if I'm fast enough. I would like to do it, I think there is a possibility of doing it, but the priority is to try and improve the bike for the riders.”
