Andrea Migno (Bester Capital Dubai) took to the top late in Warm Up for the Gran Premio Red Bull de España, deposing previous leader Aron Canet (Sterilgarda Max Racing Team) after Canet had been half a second clear and seeming unstoppable on Sunday morning. By the flag, the two were split by less than a tenth.
Championship leader Jaume Masia (Bester Capital Dubai) was third quickest but 0.461 off Masia, with Ayumu Sasaki (Petronas Sprinta Racing) and two-time Jerez winner Romano Fenati (VNE Snipers) completing the top five.
One bout of drama saw Alonso Lopez (Estrella Galicia 0,0) and Celestino Vietti (Sky Racing Team VR46) have a close call at the newly renamed Dani Pedrosa corner, but it was ultimately no harm done and there were no fallers in the session.
