Baldassarri and Fernandez stay put in Moto2™ for 2020

Both the Italian and the Spaniard will remain at the same team next season, as they look to continue their charge for Moto2™ success

Lorenzo Baldassarri and Augusto Fernandez will be retained by FLEXBOX HP 40 in 2020, with the Spanish outfit announcing their plans for next season in Moto2™. Baldassarri and Fernandez have been race winners in 2019 and will look to be part of the charge to more success in 2020.

Baldassarri’s season had got off to a strong start, with wins in the first two races and after the first four races, had been on top of the podium on three occasions. However, he has slipped down the order in the last five Grands Prix, meaning he will need to repeat his early-season form to get back on track. Teammate Fernandez came back from injury at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, finishing third. Fernandez took a win at Assen and now, the 21-year-old is just 34 points behind the championship lead.

With Baldassarri and Fernandez secured on the grid for 2020, the coming rounds will be vital for other teams to secure their rider line-up for the forthcoming season.
