Who stole Carlos Checa’s hire car?

It’s the last episode of 2019! So what better way to cap off the year by looking at some of the best on and off track stories of the season

The final 2019 episode of the MotoGP™ Podcast has arrived and to cap off the maiden season of Last On The Brakes, Matt Dunn and Fran Wyld take a leisurely sit down and a chat with MotoGP™ commentators Steve Day and Matt Birt to go through a range of the on and off track highlights of the year.

Who was their rider of the year? What about the biggest surprises and disappointments? Who (accidentally) stole Carlos Checa’s hire car? All this plus a chat about the crazy rumour mill end to the season, and what they’re most looking forward to in 2020.

Steve Day on his rider of the year: “Nobody expected it… He’s been absolutely sensational and from Jerez onwards, when you actually consider the way the championship has gone, he’s been the shining light and the saviour in many ways.”

Matt Birt on his rider of the year: “He was sensational, remarkable, you run out of superlatives to describe the guy… He was so, so, super strong! I don’t think we’re ever going to see anybody put a season together like that for many many years to come, the guy was operating on a totally different level.”

Don’t worry - Last On The Brakes WILL be back in 2020 in time for the start of the season! In the meantime, you can still get in touch with the team using #MotoGPPodcast on Twitter - tell us who you want to see on the podcast next year, and even what you’re up to over the holiday season if you really like.

Enjoy episode 42 and see you in 2020!
