Championship contender Joan Mir (Team Suzuki Ecstar) recorded his worst Qualifying performance of the season as he is resigned to lining up 14th on the Grid ahead of raceday at the SHARK Helmets French Grand Prix.
It was double delight for Ducati as Danilo Petrucci (Ducati Team) and Pecco Bagnaia (Pramac Racing) ensured there will be five Ducati’s in Q2.
Petrucci set the best time of the weekend with a 1:31.952 with less than three minutes to go in Q1, and nobody could displace the Italian in what followed.
Bagnaia joined his Ducati counterpart in the Top 2 on his penultimate lap to help knock Mir out of contention and into the fourth row on Sunday.
