Garrett Gerloff to ride in FP1 and FP2 at the European GP

Valentino Rossi will get the result for his second PCR test on Friday evening and the American will take his place in the meantime

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP announce that Garrett Gerloff will take part in Friday's MotoGP™ sessions at the European Grand Prix held in Valencia, Spain, while waiting for the result of the PCR test that Valentino Rossi did this morning, that will be revealed this evening.

Following a negative PCR test result obtained on Thursday 5th November, Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) made his way to Valencia, Spain. This morning (Friday 6th November) he took another PCR test as per FIM requirements. Should the Italian test negative again, he will take part in this weekend‘s Gran Premio de Europa from tomorrow‘s FP3 onwards.

However, whilst The Doctor awaits the results of the test, American WorldSBK star Gerloff will get the chance to make his MotoGP™ debut and become the first American to ride in the premier class since the late, great Nicky Hayden in 2016.
