Öncü impresses to top lightweight class Warm Up

The Turk leads Dennis Foggia and teammate Ayumu Sasaki on the timesheets as Moto3™ riders made some final tweaks to their machines

Deniz Öncü recorded a 1:36.181 to end Moto3™ Warm Up quickest at the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix of Austria. The Red Bull KTM Tech 3 rider put in some impressively quick laps as the lightweight class made some final tweaks ahead of lights out, with the Turk having 0.228s to spare over Dennis Foggia (Leopard Racing), while teammate Ayumu Sasaki completes the top three.

It was also an encouraging run out for poleman Romano Fenati (Sterilgarda Max Racing Team) with the Italian completing nine laps as he prepares to launch from the head of the grid for the first time in four years. Second in the Championship, Sergio Garcia (Santander Consumer GASGAS Aspar) rounds out the top five, while title race leader Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) occupies P9 on the timesheets.

The time for talking is over, with lights out for the Moto3™ race at the Austrian Grand Prix set to see lights out at 11:00 (CET). Make sure you tune in then.
