Chishiki holds off Kunitate by 0.017s to win Race 1 in Thailand
The opening Idemitsu Moto4 Asia Cup race of the season ended in dramatic fashion with Hayato Chishiki becoming a winner after a breathtaking final lap scrap. Chishiki beat compatriot Waku Kunitate by a mere 0.017s as the duo put on a display for the Thai fans. The final spot on the podium went the way of Bintang Pranata following an intense fight for P3!
Chishiki doubles up as podium fight goes to the wire
Hayato Chishiki has secured a maximum 50 points from the opening weekend of Idemitsu Moto4 Asia Cup action. The Japanese rider rode clear of his rivals, earning a second consecutive victory and starting his 2026 season in style. Qabil Irfan finished as runner-up, crossing the line a further two seconds behind as Kotaro Togashi clinched the final spot on the podium. Leaving Thailand, Chishiki holds a 17-point advantage over Kunitate following the #8's P4 finish!
