Ever since the 2016 Valencia GP, Aprilia Racing have raced their RS-GPs in a special (RED) livery to show their support for World Aids Day, which takes place every year on December the 1st.
World Aids Day – an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV – has taken place each year since 1988 and the (RED) foundation, set up in 2006 by Bono and Bobby Shriver, supports the fight against Aids, tuberculosis, and malaria in various countries. Nearly $700 million has been raised by (RED) for their global fund, and Aprilia help raise awareness in the MotoGP™ community about these diseases.
“It's a message that as a group we care about these kind of word problems. Sustainability is one but the (RED) mission is another one as we all know,” said Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola about the (RED) initiative.
