Aegerter to continue with Dynavolt Intact GP in 2022

Dominique Aegerter and Dynavolt Intact GP join forces for third year in the MotoE™ title hunt

It will be Dominique Aegerter's third season in a row as one of the strongest riders on the MotoE grid with the Dynavolt Intact GP team. The sympathetic Swiss finished third overall in 2020, level on points with second placed Matteo Ferrari, and took the World Cup runner-up title this year in September after a stirring finale at Misano, seven points behind Jordi Torres.

Dominique Aegerter, who was recently crowned Supersport World Champion, has provided nail-biting duels and thrilling races in MotoE™ for the past two years and definitely has a score to settle in the increasingly popular series.

After an eventful year, he is now enjoying his well-deserved winter break at home before he will be back on the bike in Spain at the beginning of the year and get fit for the first official MotoE™ test from 7 to 9 March.

With two races in a weekend, the 2022 FIM Enel MotoE™ Wold Cup season will feature a full 14 races at 7 venues. The season opener will take place at the end of April at the Circuito de Jerez in Andalusia, Spain. Mugello and Finland have been added as new circuits to the MotoE calendar.

Dominique Aegerter:
"Of course, I'm delighted to be contesting my third year with the Intact GP team in the MotoE category. We had to wait until the race calendars were published to make sure that no dates overlapped with the Supersport World Championship because I'll be competing in that class again in 2022. I would like to take this opportunity to thank both teams for allowing me to participate in these two championships. It will certainly be an exhausting season with 20 races and an additional seven doubleheaders in MotoE. But I already can't wait to get back on the bike and race, although I'll have to wait until May for MotoE. I'm pleased that with Mugello and the Kymi Ring we'll be visiting two new circuits with the electric class, and the qualifying format will also change a bit. I've been third once and now second in the MotoE Cup, so the goal is clearly to win the title. We want to fight for the podium in every race to have the chance to be at the top at the very end. We will do our best, but until then, I wish everyone a great Christmas season and a fantastic New Year. I'm going to spend the next few weeks in Switzerland, preparing myself mentally and physically before I travel to Spain in January or February to train more intensively with the Supermoto and Motocross bike. In the meantime, though, feel free to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, as that's where I'll be documenting my workouts a bit and giving a few updates. Hoping that the Corona situation will relax a bit again, I'm looking forward to the next season with confidence and to be able to welcome all the fans at the track again. Stay healthy!"

Jürgen Lingg:
"It's absolutely great that the FIM has set up the calendar in such a way that there is no overlap with the Supersport World Championship, in which Dominique will also compete again. Fortunately, we don't have to worry about that now, so we will continue to race together in MotoE in 2022. Dominique has certainly been one of the strongest riders in the last two years and has been close to winning the title each time.  The competition will be even stronger in 2022, the races will be fiercely contested again, but we will face this challenge and we will leave no stone unturned to improve in all areas. Domi has the necessary speed and a lot of self-confidence with his successes in recent years. It will be exciting!"
