Pramac Racing prepare for new era with 2022 launch

Under new stewardship, Jorge Martin and Johann Zarco will unveil their GP22 liveries on Wednesday, February 2nd from their HQ in Tuscany

2021 proved a year to remember for Pramac Racing, with eight podiums, including one victory, seeing them claim the Best Independent Teams’ Championship for the season. The Ducati satellite team will be aiming to make it back-to-back titles, and they will officially launch their season with their Team Presentation on Wednesday, February 2nd.

The Italians begin the season under new stewardship, with Francesco Guidotti leaving his Team Manager role to head up KTM’s premier class efforts, while Claudio Calabresi, formerly with Octo Pramac MotoE™, comes in to replace him. The new Pramac Racing Team Manager will oversee a team with considerable pedigree, with Jorge Martin and Johann Zarco harbouring serious race and title ambitions.

In his debut premier class season, Martin claimed four pole positions, three podium finishes and one victory, which helped him take the Rookie of the Year crown. The Spaniard became just the fifth rookie to claim a race win in the MotoGP™ era after Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda), Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Tech3), Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo. Entering into his sophomore season, the number 89 will be expected to improve upon his ninth-place finish from 2021.

On the other side of the garage is Zarco, a rider with considerable MotoGP™ experience. The Frenchman claimed four podiums in the opening seven races last season, which had him firmly in the title hunt. However, an inability to return to the rostrum in the latter half of the year saw his Championship challenge tail off but he still claimed a very respectable P5 overall finish. Now entering his sixth season in the class, the two-time Moto2™ World Champion is still waiting for that elusive race victory, with that surely the target for the season ahead.

You can hear from both riders and their new Team Manager on Wednesday when Pramac Racing officially unveil their 2022 liveries and launch their campaign. Coming live from their HQ in Tuscany, you can follow it all from 15:00 CET on motogp.com.
