The FIM and FIM Europe have published the entry lists of the permanent riders for the 2022 season of the FIM Finetwork JuniorGP™ World Championship. The celebrated Championship, which enters a new era this year, now has the entry list for its main competition, the FIM Finetwork JuniorGP™ World Championship, as well as the Moto2™ European Championship and the Hawkers European Talent Cup (HETC).
The FIM Finetwork JuniorGP™ World Championship, the pinnacle competition of the prestigious Road to MotoGP™ programme, will feature a roster of 36 confirmed full-time participants, with returning riders and a roster of promising rookies. All of them are highly talented, with riders who have already shone in other categories, such as Colombian David Alonso, the reigning Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup champion.
As for the Moto2™ European Championship, where the new Moto2™ World Championship star Fermín Aldeguer (MB Conveyors Speed Up) swept the field last season, the category will also feature 36 riders, some of them as experienced as Aldeguer's former team-mate, Alonso López (Team Stylobike), his compatriot Héctor Garzó (MV Agusta Forward Junior Team), the Andorran Xavi Cardelús (Promoracing), the German Lukas Tulovic (Liqui Moly Intact JuniorGP Team) or the Italian Tommaso Marcon (MMR), among many others.
The number of riders registered for the HETC will rise to 49, with young representatives from many different nationalities. All of them will try to follow in the footsteps of Spaniard Máximo Martínez, champion in the 2021 edition and who will be aiming to repeat that feat once again in the ranks of Team Honda Laglisse. The Championship top three was completed by Cuna de Campeones team-mates Adrián Cruces and Xabier Zurutuza, who will be competing in the FIM Finetwork JuniorGP™ World Championship this year.
