Öncü fastest in Warm Up to kick off race day

Red Bull KTM Tech3's Deniz Öncü started race day at the Red Bull Grand Prix of Spain in fine form as he topped the morning Warm Up session. The Turk was three tenths clear of Carlos Tatay (CFMoto PruestelGP), who will start from the back of the grid later and serve a long lap penalty along with Ayumu Sasaki (Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max Racing) and Gerard Riu (BOE SKX).

The session ended in frightening fashion when Mario Aji (Honda Team Asia) and Ivan Ortola (Angeluss MTA Team) collided down the back straight. One of the stricken bikes then continued onwards at some speed and blindsided poor Joel Kelso (CIP Green Power), who has been taken to the medical centre for further checks.
