Moto2™ stars given access-all-areas tour of Triumph's HQ

Celestino Vietti, Aron Canet and Joe Roberts soaked up all of the famous British brand's 120-year history

Ahead of a return to action for the Moto2™ class at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix, Celestino Vietti (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) was joined by fellow frontrunner Aron Canet (Flexbox HP 40) and race winner Joe Roberts (Italtrans Racing Team) for a VIP visit to Triumph’s global HQ in Hinckley, close to Silverstone, on Thursday.

The three got to see where the 765cc triple engine powering Moto2™ was born and experience some highlights from the Factory Visitor Experience Museum, getting a tour through the marque's 120-year history and getting a peek at an engine on the dyno at maximum revs.

All three thoroughly enjoyed the experience before then tackling the iconic Silverstone circuit for Round 12 of the intermediate class title chase. Canet clinched a top five finish, with Vietti and Roberts closing following the Spaniard home in sixth and seventh.

Celestino Vietti: "A nice experience. It’s been nice to learn a bit of Triumph’s story and to see see how they are trying to develop the engines we use. Triumph started a new era of Moto2 that I like a lot. The riding style is now more like MotoGP, so it’s a good school to learn and to grow in."

Aron Canet: "It's been a different experience for me and for the other riders here for sure. So nice to hear the story about Triumph. I’ve only ever known Triumph in Moto2 but I think their engines suit me a lot."

Joe Roberts: "Super nice to be here at Triumph. I feel like I have more of a connection with this place. We've obviously been using the engines for the last few years but over the summer I bought an old 1969 Triumph TR6 and I was riding it every around LA every day, so it's kind of cool to see the old bikes here. I've even been trying to get a few parts for my bike just to see if I could. It’s pretty old so you gotta keep maintaining them!"
