Bastianini sets the pace in the Misano Warm Up

Gresini Racing MotoGP™ rider Enea Bastianini has set the fastest lap in the Warm up for the Gran Premio Gryfyn di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini Misano. On home soil at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, and sporting a one-off livery on his Ducati in honour of Fausto Gresini, ‘La Bestia’ set a 1:31.944 to claim Sunday morning bragging rights ahead of his front row start in this afternoon’s Grand Prix. Future team-mate Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) was only 0.066 seconds slower in second place, and Luca Marini (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) made it three Italians on three Ducatis in the top three with a 1:32.065.

As usual, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™ man Fabio Quartararo was first of those taking up the fight to the Bologna bullets with a 1:32.118 leaving him fourth, ahead of Aprilia Racing’s Maverick Viñales on a 1:32.186. Pole-sitter Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team) was 11th on a 1:32.581 as the Australian eased himself into a big day. While mixed conditions spiced up qualifying, it was sunshine which greeted riders for the Warm Up, with the vast majority running the hard Michelin slick on the front and the medium on the rear, although Bastianini was an exception with a soft on the back.
