Sanctions dished out to multiple riders at the Valencia GP

Four riders given a rap over the knuckles for various incidents at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo

The FIM MotoGP™ Stewards have had a busy Saturday at the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana, handing out sanctions to riders in both the premier class and Moto3™ for incidents in Free Practice. Attracting their wrath were Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda Idemitsu), Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team), Jaume Masia (Red Bull KTM Ajo), and Kaito Toba (CIP Green Power).

Nakagami was issued a 3 Grid Position penalty for riding slow on the racing line in MotoGP™ FP3 and disturbing Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing). The Japanese rider was 11th-quickest in Q2 but, instead of taking up P21 on the grid, will have to start from P24. Bezzecchi, who had a dramatic incident in the same Free Practice session when he crashed and his Ducati caught fire, has been fined 1000 Euros and given an official warning after being observed to have made physical contact with a marshal in an aggressive and unprofessional manner.

Stewards dished out multiple penalties to Masia and Toba for their fight beside the race track in Moto3™ FP3, with each forced to start the race from Pit Lane and then service a Long Lap Penalty. The two had engaged in a physical altercation after making contact which caused both to crash. For that, both were also fined 1000 Euros.
