Öncü sets the pace as Moto3™ go private testing in Jerez

The entire lightweight class grid are in Andalucia for two days of important testing action

The entire Moto3™ World Championship grid is at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto for some private testing action ahead of the upcoming Official Moto2™ and Moto3™ Portimao Test, which takes place on the 17th, 18th and 19th of March.

As it was for much of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship Test, conditions weren’t entirely optimal in Jerez but coming out on top of the timesheets was Deniz Öncü as the Turkish star gears up for a year in Red Bull KTM Ajo colours in 2023. Class sophomore Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets – MSI) and Stefano Nepa (Angeluss MTA Team), the latter returning to action following a nasty leg injury sustained at the 2022 Malaysian GP, were inside the top three.

The Moto3™ class will be back out on track on Friday for another full, important day of private testing. If you’d like to keep up with what times the riders are posting, then you can head over to Jerez’s live timing page.
