A lap record breaking morning unfolds in Portimao

The times have tumbled from Day 1 as reigning Champion Bagnaia leads the way heading into the final few hours

The final day of pre-season at the MotoGP™ Portimao Test is well and truly alive after reigning World Champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) smashes the all-time lap record. The number 1 star’s blistering 1:38.154 currently places him 0.191s ahead of Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing) as the times tumble from Saturday’s outing.

It’s been another glorious day weather-wise so far at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, meaning the action on track has been hectic as the factories plough through their remaining testing schedules before the chequered flag brings the curtain down on 2023 pre-season testing.

Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) continues to impress on his new machine, the two-time World Champion is currently P3 ahead of Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) and another rider going very well in new surroundings – Miguel Oliveira (RNF MotoGP™ Team).

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™’s Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli are continuing to play around with aero packages in what is a huge afternoon coming up for the Iwata factory. Currently, Quartararo is P12 and Morbidelli sits P19.

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) and Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) have both crashed unhurt so far on Day 2.

You can follow the action until the chequered flag via Live Timing before tuning into After The Flag live at 17:00 local time.
