Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) snatched the top spot as P1 came to a close at the SHARK Grand Prix de France with a 1:42.402. Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets - MSI) led the way before being bumped off the top spot by the Japanese rider in the final five minutes, the young Brazilian finished the session in P2. Despite a trip to the gravel trap, Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) finished the session 0.750s away from Sasaki in P3.
Andrea Migno (CIP Green Power) used his Moto3™ experience to bag 4th spot in the opening session of the French GP, 0.851s away from the top spot. Daniel Holgago (Red Bull KTM Ajo) rounded out the top 5 as the Spaniard will be looking for a return to the Moto3™ top step.

Ivan Ortola (Angeluss MTA Team) crashed out right at the end, only managing 14th.
