Circuit Ricardo Tormo begins resurfacing works

The Valencia-based track will have a brand-new surface for the final Grand Prix of the year

The Circuit Ricardo Tormo has begun resurfacing works ahead of the Valencia Grand Prix at the end of November.

During the last few weeks, topographical survey work has been carried out to identify potholes, irregularities, sinkholes and minor water accumulation points requiring treatment before resurfacing.

Between now and the end of August, work will be carried out especially at the exit of Turn 1 and Turn 14, with deeper milling and the demolition of the current kerbs and the construction of new, wider ones with a new format proposed by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) and approved by the Motor Racing Federation (FIM). In addition, part of the drainage network will be updated to ensure the rapid drainage of water.

These efforts will result in the first resurfacing the Valencia-based circuit will have seen since the summer of 2012.
