Official: Bastianini to remain with Ducati Lenovo Team in 2024

Speaking to Simon Crafar in Catalan GP Free Practice 1, Team Manager Davide Tardozzi confirmed ‘The Beast’ will race alongside Bagnaia next year

It will come as no surprise but another Ducati 2024 rider market jigsaw puzzle has fallen into place as Ducati Lenovo Team Manager Davide Tardozzi confirms Enea Bastianini will remain with the factory squad in 2024 alongside Francesco Bagnaia.

“Yesterday, we confirmed officially that Enea will be with us next year too. He deserves another year with the factory bike because of what he has done in the past,” said Tardozzi to motogp.com pitlane reporter Simon Crafar in MotoGP™ Free Practice.

It’s been an injury-troubled season for Bastianini after he broke his shoulder blade at the season-opening Portuguese Grand Prix, with the Italian forced to sit out his debut campaign in Bologna red until the Italian Grand Prix. This is why Tardozzi refers to what Bastianini did in the past, with the latter claiming a superb P3 in the World Championship last year while racing with Gresini - earning him a well-deserved promotion to the factory team.

With the Ducati Lenovo Team locked and loaded for 2024, it’s now just the Prima Pramac, Gresini Racing and Mooney VR46 teams that need to be fully confirmed in the Italian marque's ranks for next season. We should know more in the coming weeks about who will land where.
