Martin bounces back with dominant FP1 display

The Spaniard came out of the blocks flying in Thailand with Aprilia looking strong as Bagnaia finishes in P10

Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) rebounded from his Australian GP disappointment with a fine showing in FP1 at the OR Thailand Grand Prix as his 1:30.520 benchmark placed the Spaniard 0.238s clear of second fastest Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing). Pol Espargaro put his GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 inside the top three in the opening stint of the weekend to get his Thai GP off to a promising start.

Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) and Franco Morbidelli (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) enjoyed top five starts to their weekends at the Chang International Circuit, with World Championship leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) finishing FP1 down in P10. The Italian - as he usually does on a Friday morning - did all his work on used rubber, so this afternoon's Practice session will provide us with a first glimpse at how the #1 is looking on fresh tyres.

There are Q2 spots up for grabs later on as Practice for MotoGP™  is set to commence at 15:00 local time (GMT +7). With the title battle heating up, make sure not to miss any of the action on motogp.com!
