Viñales takes Warm Up honours ahead of crucial Sunday in Qatar

The Spaniard got the perfect start to his Sunday with racing action just around the corner

The riders took to the Lusail International Circuit on Sunday morning to fine-tune their race packages ahead of lights out at the Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar. It was Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) who topped the pile after his 1:53.346 put him 0.235s ahead of Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing) who took P2. Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) rounded out the top three on Sunday morning. The Frenchman seems to be making positive steps in the right direction onboard his M1 but still has a mountain to climb to compete with the Bologna bullets.

The title fighting duo had a quiet Sunday morning for their standards. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) has the bragging rights after warm-up despite finishing down in P9. The Italian finished seven positions ahead of his title rival Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) who could only manage P16.

The title battle will rage in on the Grand Prix later on as Bagnaia and Martin are set to scrap it for 22 laps of the Lusail International Circuit, and will start alongside each other on the second row. You're not going to want to miss any of the action as the Qatar Airway Grand Prix of Qatar is set to get underway at 20:00 local time (GMT +3)!
