FIM Awards: 2023 World Champions honoured in Liverpool

The gala is back in 2023, toasting the two-wheeled successes of the season in style

The FIM Awards saw the stars of two wheels descend on Liverpool, England, in 2023. There, Champions from across different disciplines were rewarded in a unique celebration of their successes this year, and looking mighty sharp if we say so ourselves.

2023 FIM MotoGP™ World Champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) celebrated his second premier class title, receiving his FIM medal as he returned to the stage for a second consecutive year. Pecco joins only Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi as riders who have defended the crown in the MotoGP™ era.

Bagnaia was joined by 2023 Moto2™ World Champion Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo), fresh from testing a MotoGP™ bike for the first time ahead of his debut in the premier class next year, as well as 2023 Moto3™ World Champion Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing) after an incredible season.

Mattia Casadei (HP Pons Los40), the first ever FIM Enel MotoE™ World Champion as the electric series became a Championship in 2023, also took to the red carpet and received his medal. Others present included 2023 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Champion Alvaro Bautista and 2023 Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ Champion Angel Piqueras ahead of his move into the Moto3™ World Championship next year.

The gala brings the 2023 season to a close in style as we head into winter break. Then it'll be time for the wheels to turn again as the Shakedown and Sepang Tests fire us up for 2024... so watch this space and get ready to celebrate 75 years of Grand Prix motorcycle racing throughout the season!
