Garzo spearheads Day 2 timesheets as rain hits Portimao

The Spaniard set the fastest lap of the MotoE™ Test so far as mixed weather conditions arrive on Thursday in Portugal

Day 2 of the Official MotoE™ Portimao Test has ended with Hector Garzo (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE™) spearheading the timesheets thanks to his 1:46.916 effort, as the Spaniard sets the fastest lap of the test so far despite mixed weather conditions arriving on Thursday. Day 1 pacesetter Nicolas Spinelli (Tech3 E-Racing) was P2 ahead of the final day, with Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE™) completing the top three.

Alessandro Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing) and Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) were the riders who rounded out the top five on Day 2, as the electric class field got their first taste of wet weather action in 2024.

Despite the conditions providing some useful information and track time for the teams and riders, the paddock will be hoping the rain stays clear for the final day of pre-season testing on Friday. The time to beat heading into Day 3 is Garzo’s 1:46.916, with the #4 currently the only rider dipping below the 1:47 bracket. Can anyone join or beat him?
