With a drying track, riders had tricky conditions, for the opening Moto2™ session of the weekend, with Manuel Gonzalez ending Free Practice quickest ahead of his teammate Albert Arenas in a Triumph-powered QJMOTO Gresini Moto2™ one-two. Somkiat Chantra (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia) was a further 0.161 behind, with Jake Dixon (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) returning after a crash in Qatar and ending the session in fifth position.
