It was finally time for the iconic Gran Premio d’Italia Brembo to begin, with David Alonso (CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team) picking up where he left off after taking the top honours to start the weekend in Moto3™. The Colombian set a relentless pace across the session, setting a new lap record and was astonishingly 1.068s clear of Ryusei Yamanaka (MT Helmets -MSI in second). The #6 had a strong start to the weekend, setting 14 laps across the session to improve on his last flying lap. Yamanaka was ahead of Jose Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo), who took third in Free Practice, ending the session 1.232s away from Alonso’s benchmark.

Red Bull GASGAS Tech3’s Daniel Holgado was one rider who could instantly find time at Mugello, crossing the line in fourth after a late improvement on Friday morning. Behind Holgado and rounding out the top five was Stefano Nepa (LEVELUP – MTA) - a further 0.140s behind. However, it was not smooth sailing for Noah Dettwiler (CIP Green Power), who had a tough start to the weekend after suffering from a technical issue in the opening minutes of Free Practice – losing over 15 minutes of the session and finishing 24th.
Moto3™ returns for Practice 1 at 13:15 local time (UTC +2), so make sure you tune in and don’t miss anything on motogp.com!
