Best Takeoff: 13th on the grid? No problem for Brad Binder

Binder was the winner of the Qatar Airways Best Take Off after an incredible start to the Italian GP Tissot Sprint

It was a thrilling weekend at the Gran Premio d’Italia Brembo, with action-packed racing throughout – especially during the Tissot Sprint. One of the highlights of the Sprint came from Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), who won the Qatar Airways Best Take Off award at the Italian GP after a sensational start catapulted Binder to fourth on the exit of San Donato on lap one.

Binder started the Sprint from P13 on the grid after a tough qualifying, where the #33 was unable to exit Q1. This meant the start was crucial for Binder, who managed to get a sensational launch off the line to pass nine riders. Binder continued to battle hard for the remaining 11 laps to cross the line to finish in sixth place, scoring valuable Championship points.

Discussing qualifying and the start, Binder said: “I tried my best lap in Q1 but it just wasn’t quite enough to get through and I knew from 13th I’d need a good start…which is what I did! Our bike is a rocket.”
