Defending two-time MotoGP™ World Champion Francesco Bagnaia made it three wins on the bounce at the Motul TT Assen, and the factory Ducati star has narrowed the Championship gap to its closest point since the Spanish GP. In addition to his pole position, Tissot Sprint win and Grand Prix victory, Bagnaia has also earned the Qatar Airways Best Take Off award from the Netherlands!
The Italian made the advantage of starting in P1 count, getting the holeshot ahead of Maverick Viñales and then defending the position from ‘Top Gun’ throughout the opening corners before stretching his advantage in the second half of the lap. There was then no looking back from Bagnaia, as he romped home to a sensational victory and maintain his title push.
Next up for MotoGP™ is the Sachsenring, and a chance for Bagnaia’s rivals to respond. 2023 saw Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) take the victory after an epic duel with the Italian, while we all know about Marc Marquez’ (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) prowess at the German circuit when he’s on form and firing. It’s set to be another blockbuster, and thankfully we don’t have to wait long, with the Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland getting underway on Friday, July 5th!
