Ramirez looks strong as Roberts returns at the Sachsenring

The #24 was quickest on a fast Friday morning in Germany ahead of Aldeguer and Chantra

Marcos Ramirez (OnlyFans American Racing Team) snatches top honours in the opening Free Practice at the iconic Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland. The #24 set a strong 1:23.347 in the final five minutes, to claim a sensational new lap record and to end the session ahead of Fermin Aldeguer (MB Conveyors SpeedUp), who also found time to improve and ended Friday morning just 0.059s adrift from the top. Taking third after an impressive Free Practice was Somkiat Chantra (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia), who had a confidence boost after leading the majority of the session - losing the top spot in the final five minutes.

Fourth place went the way of Dennis Foggia (Italtrans Racing Team), with the Italian having a solid start to the weekend in Germany after setting 24 laps and finishing ahead of Championship leader Sergio Garcia (MT Helmets – MSI), who rounded out a strong top five. Meanwhile, Joe Roberts (OnlyFans America Racing Team) made his racing comeback just one week after his crash at Assen. Roberts was 26th at the end of Free Practice and was remarkable only 1.731s adrift from his teammate.

However, there’s still plenty of Moto2™ action to come in Germany with Practice 1 starting at 14:05 local time (UTC +2). So, make sure you don’t miss any of the action on motogp.com!
