Race 1 for the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship was fireworks at the Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland, with Hector Garzo (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE™) delivering another shift in the Championship in the reduced distance race. The #4 took the lead on Lap 2 and did not look back, storming to the line to win by 0.408s from polesitter Alessandro Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing). Meanwhile, Nicholas Spinelli completed a fantastic result for the Tech3 E-Racing squad after claiming P3 at the line.
Meanwhile, Oscar Gutierrez (Axxis-MSI) had an eventful Race 1 and was involved in a crash with Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) on Lap 1 – briefly bringing out the red flag. The race distance was shortened to just five laps with the #99 handed a double Long Lap penalty for the incident before being later handed a second double Long Lap for jumping the start.
