Aron Canet (Fantic Racing) ended Moto2™ Practice 1 at the top of the timesheets after a fantastic final flying lap allowed the #44 to complete the perfect Friday at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix. Canet set a 2:03.602 - a new lap record - to sit 0.294s ahead of Celestino Vietti (Red Bull KTM Ajo), who took second. The #13 also improved late and was ahead of compatriot Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team), who was third after briefly topping the order.

Home hero Jake Dixon (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) led the early stages of the session to the delight of the fans surrounding the Silverstone circuit. However, Ai Ogura (MT Helmets – MSI) soon stole the top spot as time attacks began in the final 10 minutes before Arbolino took P1 and would later improve. However, the #14’s lap was taken away due to yellow flags after his teammate Filip Salac (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) crashed on the entry to Vale.
Meanwhile, Ogura managed to secure fourth position at the line, a further 0.003s behind Arbolino. Behind the #79 and rounding out the top five was Diogo Moreira (Italtrans Racing Team), who was less than half a second adrift from Canet’s new benchmark. Alonso Lopez (GT Trevisan SpeedUp) was behind in sixth, continuing to build his pace at Silverstone and finishing ahead of Dixon, who eventually claimed seventh. The #96 finished ahead of Championship leader Sergio Garcia (MT Helmets – MSI), who crashed at Turn 3 in the closing stages.

Further back, the final spots inside the top 10 went the way of OnlyFans American Racing Team’s Marcos Ramirez and Joe Roberts. Albert Arenas (QJMOTOR Gresini Moto2™) was closely behind in P11, with the Spaniard finishing ahead of Somkiat Chantra (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia) and Fermin Aldeguer (GT Trevisan SpeedUp). Aldeguer spent most of the session outside the top 10 but would finish in P13 ahead of RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP’s Zonta Van Den Goorbergh, who suffered an issue during the session.
