MotoGP™ is finally back in action at the legendary Monster Energy British Grand Prix after the summer break, with Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) climbing to the top of the timesheets on Friday morning after setting a strong 1:59.383. The #89 had a perfect start to the weekend after a disappointing end to the German GP last time out. It was close at the top as Martin ended FP1 a mere 0.090s ahead of Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing). Viñales improved on his final flying lap to place ahead of his teammate Aleix Espargaro, who took third in a strong start to the weekend for the Aprilia Racing squad.

Meanwhile, Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) took fourth in a great session for the Australian, who will be aiming high this weekend. The #43 ended Free Practice 1 ahead of Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing), who rounded out the top five at Silverstone. The Italian has yet to confirm his future and looked strong, finishing ahead of Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) in sixth. Meanwhile, Fabio Di Giannantonio took seventh and finished as the top Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider. It was a good morning for the VR46 Racing Team as they were announced to be a Ducati factory supported team from 2025.
Further back, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) was eighth as the reigning World Champion begins to set his sights on adding to his fantastic win tally in 2024. The #1 finished in front of Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™ Team), who was ninth after a great session for the Frenchman. Behind Quartararo was Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) who rounded out the top 10 after the #93 suffered a late crash at Stowe in the final five minutes of the session. Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) would also crash on Friday morning, running deep at the tricky Turn 6 and crashing in the gravel trap.
