It was an exhilarating start to Saturday for the Moto2™ field at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix as Aron Canet (Fantic Racing) destroyed the lap record at Silverstone. The #44 set a groundbreaking 2:03.433 in Practice 2 to claim a 0.281s advantage over the rest of the field and Zonta Van Den Goorbergh (RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP), who impressively took second. The #84 set 11 laps throughout the session and was consistently fast, placing ahead of Joe Roberts (OnlyFans American Racing Team), with the American securing third place, a further 0.096s behind.

The session came down to the final 10 minutes with red sectors beginning to appear from a handful of riders as some big names had work to do. Somkiat Chantra (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia) would find time before Roberts and Van Den Goorbergh would begin to close in on Canet's time before the #44 responded - extended his margin. Further back, Fermin Aldeguer (GT Trevisan SpeedUp) was one of the riders who struggled to find time on Saturday, pushing hard in an effort to improve.
Meanwhile, it was a solid morning for the Championship leader as Sergio Garcia (MT Helmets – MSI) heads into qualifying in fourth place. The #3 ends Practice 2 in front of Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Celestino Vietti, with the Italian finishing in fifth after he was unable to improve on his time from Friday. Jake Dixon (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) was sixth ahead of Ai Ogura in seventh, who capped off another strong session for the MT Helmets – MSI squad. Taking eighth was Chantra, who jumped up the order after improving late in the session.
