Moto3™ started a thrilling Saturday at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix, in the field’s final chance to earn a vital spot inside Q2 with Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) remaining fastest after his fantastic lap on Friday afternoon. The Dutchman’s 2:09.565 was unbeatable, with the #95 facing some tough competition from Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3), who found time in Practice 2, jumping to second – 0.021s behind Veijer. Holgado looked strong and was ahead of Ivan Ortola (MT Helmets – MSI), who was third and also unable to improve on his time from Friday after his fastest lap from Practice 2 was cancelled.

The session came down to the final five minutes when riders began to exit the pitlane for their final time attack of the morning. With a two-minute lap at Silverstone, it left the field with only one flying lap to improve in Practice 2. Ortola would go briefly fastest before the Spaniard’s lap was removed due to yellow flags after Noah Dettwiler (CIP Green Power) ran off the circuit.
It was a competitive field with Angel Piqueras (Leopard Racing) improving and jumping from 15th to fourth at the end of the session. Piqueras continues to improve at Silverstone, heading into qualifying ahead of fellow rookie Jacob Roulstone (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3), who rounded out the top five. Meanwhile, Joel Kelso (BOE Motorsports) took sixth and was the final rider inside the top 14 to improve on their time from Friday. The Australian completed the lap on his own and was ahead of home hero Scott Ogden (Fibre Tec Honda - MLav Racing), who remains inside the top 10 – finishing seventh in the combined standings. The #19 finished in front of LEVELUP – MTA’s Stefano Nepa, who was eighth.
