It was truly an unforgettable weekend at Silverstone, highlighted by the spectacular sight of retro bikes on Sunday. Each MotoGP™ team sported vintage-inspired liveries, and seeing them all lined up on the grid for lights out only added to the incredible atmosphere.
When the chequered flag finally waved, Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) had fought his way through the pack to secure his first win of the year. Joining him on the podium were Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team). Following closely was Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™), who rode a stunning Fausto Gresini-inspired GP23. Although the eight-time World Champion didn’t make it to the podium, he did win the Qatar Airways Best Take Off award, as voted by the fans.
Starting from seventh on the grid, Marquez quickly gained a couple of places by the opening corner and began his pursuit of a podium finish. Ultimately, he had to settle for fourth at the British GP.
Next up for Marquez and MotoGP™ is a visit to the Red Bull Ring for the Austrian Grand Prix!
