It was an eventful start to the weekend for Alonso, crashing in the opening 10 minutes before setting the pace, and ending FP1 quickest after entering the low 1:41 bracket. Then once Practice 1 got underway in the afternoon it was a strong start to the session from Angel Piqueras (Leopard Racing), who topped the times early on – improving throughout. The #36 was soon demoted to second with 26 minutes remaining, as Alonso stole the top spot – entering the low 1:41 bracket. In the closing minutes, fast times continued to be set and Fernandez would stun, snatching top spot in the final two minutes.
Piqueras finished the day in fourth after an early crash in Practice 1 at Turn 4 and an impressive pace throughout. The #36 finished as the top Honda after beating Luca Lunetta (SIC58 Squadra Corse), with the Italian rounding out the top five. Taking sixth was MT Helmets – MSI’s Ivan Ortola, finishing a mere 0.319s behind top honours and in front of Matteo Bertelle (Kopron Rivacold Snipers Team). The #18 announced his plans to join the MTA squad for 2025 and would finish Friday ahead of Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) after the Spaniard claimed eighth.
