FP1 cancelled but vibe check passed: the best of the rain delay

Capirossi on a hot one, Quartararo’s new job, a shocking move from Migno... FP1 had no bikes on track but there was plenty going on

Weather played a little havoc on Friday morning at the Qatar Airways Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, obliging the cancellation of MotoGP™ FP1. But not before we’d started the show… so here’s the best of the slightly slower-than-expected but decidedly entertaining action we enjoyed during the broadcast.

First, there was at least one rider out on track: Loris Capirossi in the BMW M Safety Car. A truly astonishing comeback.

However, Andrea Migno was unimpressed. In a shocking twist, he took matters into his own hands.

The fans remained upbeat and leaned in.

Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) started a new career as a photographer and is clearly a natural.

At Red Bull GASGAS Tech3, the vibes and the competition remained on point.

Finally, MotoGP™ winner here last year, Johann Zarco (CASTROL Honda LCR) used the time to fulfill another key ambition: to take a Grand Tour of Australia.

So, sorry if it was a bit too much of this…

May we recommend some of this?

And we’ll see you soon for MotoGP™ Practice later on Friday!
